Jordan Rajek Wins Sustainability Award

Posted: 6 March, 2017

Jordan Rajek (2016) has continued down the line of success, now taking out the Sustainability in Design Award at this year’s Shape 2016 for his ‘SandGuard’ – a lockable pod for safe storage of valuables out of sight at the beach.

The award is sponsored by UNSW Built Environment’s Industrial Design degree.  Director, Steve Ward, presented Jordan with his certificate and prize money saying that he delivered a complete package - an idea that supports healthy outdoor activity and improves security. He stated that materials and technology have been balanced with a focus on the human user, including clever use of smartphone technology. He felt there is evidence of a path of exploration leading to a complete design that looks close to viable for production.

Congratulations again Jordan!

Shape 2016 is still open at the Powerhouse Museum and closes on May 7.
