Jordan Rajek’s Projects Selected For Shape 2016 & ARTEXPRESS

Posted: 10 February, 2017

The work of Jordan Rajek (2016) has been selected for display at two separate exhibitions for HSC students: Shape 2016, for his Design and Technology (DT) project and ARTEXPRESS, for his film project. While at school, Jordan was a keen student of DT, visual design and photographic & digital media.

Shape 2016 is the exhibition for outstanding HSC DT major design projects. Jordan’s work was 'SandGuard', designed in response to the concern that beachgoers have with leaving valuables unattended. He designed a lockable, portable anti-theft pod, allowing users to safely store their valuables out of sight, by screwing it into the sand. The product also employs smart phone connectivity, which sets off an alarm if the device is moved.

Shape 2016 opens at the Powerhouse Museum on February 24 and closes on May 7.

ARTEXPRESS is the Board of Studies exhibition of benchmark HSC Bodies of Work, where Jordan’s film about memory and emotion, called ‘Remote Emotions’, will be on display. His elegant, instinctive editing, combined with stunning original footage and a dynamic soundtrack, created a film that hypnotically draws the viewer into the psyche of the protagonist.

ARTEXPRESS is open at the Art Gallery of NSW until April 23.

Jordan is about to commence studies at the University of Technology Sydney, studying a bachelor of design in visual communication. Congratulations Jordan!
