Michael Crouch AO (1951) is an entrepreneur, board member and a true renaissance man. He is best known as the founder of Zip Industries, the company that delivers instant boiling water to offices and houses in 70 countries. Michael served as Executive Chairman of Zip for 52 years and is known as one of the most prominent entrepreneurs turned businessman in Australia. Michael stepped down as Chairman in December 2013, selling his stake in the business to Quadrant Private Equity.
Alongside his successful career, Michael has found time to give back to several organisations and has been on numerous boards ranging from health, conservation and politics, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Duke of Edinburgh Award in Australia. Michael has also been an avid supporter of the arts and outdoors being the principal sponsor of the Sydney Festival and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia. Michael also compiled a book titled ‘The First Musical History of Our Nation.’ Michael has also generously donated more than 2000 copies of the book to secondary schools throughout Australia.
